So, let’s talk about me

Who am I?

Who I am depends on who you talk to.

First and foremost I’m a wife to my best friend. We’ve been married for thirty two years now which is a bit of a surprise because I’m only twenty one. How we have stayed together all these years is a mystery to me. Most of the time we aren’t on the same page. Hell, most of the time we aren’t on the same book. When it comes to  the things that matter though we are always in agreement. Is that what makes a happy marriage, sharing the same core values?

To my kids I’m  Mum, with all that entails. No matter how old your children get, you’ll still worry about them.  When I was a young mum I used to hear that comment and think what a load of tosh. How wrong can you be?  I fret about my kids all the time.

To some little and not so little people I’m Nanny. Yup I’m old enough to have grandchildren. They’ll pop up from time to time, they’re collective known as  The Clingons  because they cling on – geddit?

To the people who know me well I’m a bit scatty and can be reduced to tears of laughter with very little effort. Amazingly, I usually manage to hide these little factoids when I’m working. To people who don’t know me I am told that I am completely unable to hide the fact that I don’t suffer fools gladly and can come across as a bit scary.

To my dog I’m playmate, head chef, walker, dance partner, yup, he’s a dancing dog, and constant companion.

This blog won’t ever be filled with literary genius, not unless I start putting quotes from other people in it, I’m not clever enough for that.  It’s just my place to write down  my future memories, the tales of my ordinary life and the extraordinary people I share it with. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

    1. Thank you, that’s very kind of you. It might take me a day to two to do the beautifully named challenge but I will do it. I could do with some inner peace. 😀

  2. My dear you sound like so much fun! Your photo gallery is amazing! 28 years married to your best friend? I think that is wonderful. I am not married yet but I have been with my boyfriend for 12 years. (I am getting pushy for the ring 🙂 ) Great blog, I am happy I have a new fellow blogger friend! 🙂

    1. Thanks for the nice comments about the photos. IT’s always nice to make a new friend, isn’t it? It might be time to have a chat laden with some heavy hints to your boyfriend! 😀

      1. Your welcome dear! Hint?? I was straight forward the other day like “Oh hey the weather is nice today…when are we going to get married?” hahaha
